 News Update - 8/20/2003

Hello All Alumni!

Hope everyone's summer has been filled with fun and family. It's been pretty quiet in terms of news updates around here so thought it was time to check in.

Please continue to send us any updates you might have in home or email address. You can give us updates for your own information or if you are aware of a change regarding a classmate, send those to us as well. Hopefully we can keep things up to date for the next reunion.

Also if you have any news items you'd like to see posted here on the website, feel free to send those in to Alan McCollough or Brett Trotter.

 News Update - 5/19/2003

Without our roots

   We cannot grow,

By honoring our past

    We define our future.

On May 26th, Monday, Memorial Day, the Grandchildren of George Whyte and Gertrude Conger Whyte are hosting a gathering to honor “the three most spoiled kids in Goldfield during the 1920’s”.

Ruth Whyte Richardson (GHS ’24, died 2002 at age 96), Margaret Whyte (GHS ’26, died 2003 at age 94) and, Conger Whyte (GHS ’34, died 1994 at age 78.)

This will be an event to celebrate these three active, strong and independent siblings as a family.

At 9:15am there will be an informal graveside service for Margaret with relatives at the Goldfield Cemetery.

At 10:00am the Goldfield community service takes place at the Cemetery followed by the usual reception at Memorial Hall.

At 11:00am the Whyte relatives gather for a lawn picnic under the large “Whyte” tent at the Pearl and Conger Home.

At 2:00pm friends are invited to an open house of live music, story-telling based on large format photos from family albums, gentle roasting and funny memories plus snacks and refreshments.
